Happy Birthday Winston

Today, Winston turned 2!  Both dogs got their share of birthday cake (canned dog food).  Winston ate his so fast he forgot to breathe and had a spaz out moment.

Winston kept leaving us and going off to a different room to sleep…so we got the dogs a new dog bed for the living room.  Eventually, Davie got kicked out of the bed and has since resumed his place on the couch with us.

Diving again…finally!

Our poor scuba gear has been feeling neglected because we haven’t gone out in a while due to the move…  We finally got back under the water this weekend with a boat dive.  Our dives included one wreck and one drift dive.  The wreck was the Sea Emperor, a.k.a the Aqua Zoo.  It was a small vessel that landed upside down in about 75 ft of water. It was no aqua zoo…there a few of the typical parrot fish and lots of corals growing on the side but that was it.  A group of divers had found a puffer fish and kept pulling on its tail to make it keep puffing up.  It was neat to see, but we both felt bad for the fish because it puts a lot of stress on the poor guy.

The drift dive was better and a lot more comfortable for us.  On a drift dive, the boat just drops you off on top of the reef and picks you up when you surface.  There is no crowding of other divers and no line to go down.  We still didn’t see too much.  Just a crab and a small spotted sting ray.  I was annoyed because the captain made a big deal about not going east from the drop point and that was apparently where all the eels, lobsters, and fish were according to the other divers.  We are definitely going to try out a new charter the next time we go on a boat.  This was the second time we used this one and the captain just seems to be tired of his job.

We decided to quit feeling pressured to go on boat dives.  Even though the water was like glass, one of us still got sea sick and we didn’t see anything too exciting….again.  We have seen way better sea life and coral formations doing shore dives.  And…it is way cheaper.  The next day we went snorkeling with friends at LBTS and saw a tarpon, angel fish, pipe fish, etc…

Tim fell through the ceiling of our garage when we were looking at the house before we bought it.  Here’s pics!

Mini-canes

So, we keep having very tropical weather every day around 3-4pm.  By tropical, I mean windy downpours of big rain with ferocious thunder and lighting. (Poor Davie, it scares him to the point of trembling!)  They usually lasts an hour or so and then it is sunny again.  Yesterday was by far the worst one I have seen.  It caused our street to flood about 2.5 feet deep and cover about half of our front lawn/driveway.  We’re thinking our neighbor down the street who sweeps his lawn clippings into the drain might have something to do with it…

My Grandma died this morning. She was an amazing person.  I will never forget the time I spent with her.  I love and miss her so much.

We’ve been really busy lately and I haven’t had time to post pics…  I promise that a bunch are on the way as soon as we get our camera back.
